Learn how to Observe, Note, Classify, Evaluate behaviour in simulations.
Complete the Registration form
Purpose:
Assessing behaviour based competencies for selection or development purposes is of critical importance. Assessments usually make use of simulations to assess the candidate/ delegate's behaviour in specific situations. The accuracy and reliability of assessments depend on the skills of the observer.
A competent observer must be able to objectively Observe, Note, Classify and Evaluate the behaviour of the candidate/ delegate during simulation.
The aim of ONCE is to instill the skills of Observing, Noting, Classifying and Evaluating.
Outcomes:
After successfully completing ONCE, you will be able to:
- Understand the South African assessment context
- Fairly administer interactive simulations and selective paper-based simulations
- Correctly observe behaviour during an interactive simulation
- Accurately note behaviour during interactive simulations
- Objectively classify behaviour, during interactive and
- paper-based simulations, according to predetermined competencies
- Fairly evaluate classified behaviour according to norms
- Effectively report the evaluated behaviour
- Successfully hold a feedback discussion
- Conduct competent role-plays
- Learning Process:
The process consists of three steps:
Step 1:
Attend a three-day workshop. During this workshop the foundations to successfully Observe, Note, Classify and Evaluate are laid through lectures and assessments, but mostly hands-on practice.
Step 2: Assignment
An assignment that includes an on-the-job exercise is concluded and handed in fourteen days prior to the second workshop.
Step 3: Attend the follow-up workshop
Delegates get individual assignment feedback during which particular attention is paid to areas needing further refinement. Delegates have the opportunity to practice their feedback skills while conducting simulated feedback discussions.
Target Group:
- Psychologists
- Psychometrists
- People working in Human Resources
- Organisational development specialists
- SETA registered assessors
- Anyone with a solid academic behavioural background
Duration:
Workshop One: 3 Days
